Deeter Gallaher Group joined forces with PinnacleHealth's marketing department to create and orchestrate a #KnockOutSepsis media conference and event on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the Pennsylvania State Capitol rotunda steps.
The #KnockOutSepsis campaign positioned PinnacleHealth System as a National Champion for sepsis education, advocacy, and death prevention. Calling sepsis the silent killer, CEO Michael Young launched the awareness campaign from the Pennsylvania State Capitol steps surrounded by over 75 influencers including lawmakers, the Secretary of Health, medical professionals, PinnacleHealth team members, board members, sepsis survivors, and sepsis heroes. A cornerstone of the awareness campaign was the voice of sepsis heroes and survivors sharing their compelling stories.
The first step was to work with PA legislators and Governor Tom Wolf to issue a Commonwealth Proclamation declaring September Sepsis Awareness Month in Pennsylvania. "The Commonwealth is committed to protecting the health and well-being of all citizens by continuing to create a greater public understanding about this disease, while encouraging individuals to advocate for and self-educate about key preventive strategies to combating sepsis. Pennsylvania is proud to support medical professionals, families, and all those endeavoring to combat sepsis," says the Governor.
After framing out the strategy and messaging, a media advisory invited the press and the public to attend the #KnockOutSepsis event.
From visuals to hashtag to awareness messaging and media coverage, the #KnockOutSepsis campaign secured extensive content reach and community response.
