#SBAPPP: Centric Bank Women-Owned Small Business Roundtable

At Deeter Gallaher Group, we build strong relationships across industries. Predicting where clients can add value with their expertise and leadership, and then creating events, media opportunities, and collaborations to amplify that value is a service we’ve perfected over the last 20 years. Deeter Gallaher Group increases our client’s brand influence, industry and community impact, leverages executive positioning, and provides powerful social media and traditional news content.

Centric Bank President & CEO Patti Husic has been a champion for small business and a leading voice for women-owned and minority-owned businesses since 2007 when she first founded the bank. When Administrator Jovita Carranza, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and her SBA team planned a visit to Harrisburg, PA, Patti hosted a Women-Owned Small Business Roundtable for the Administrator to hear first-person stories of the 2020 CARES Act Paycheck Protection Program’s impact. Deeter Gallaher Group created a diverse panel of five women-owned businesses who received #PPPloan funding, four of whom are Centric Bank clients. These women’s stories captured the raw emotion of leading through a pandemic, struggling to retain employees, and the critical lifeline of a trusted community bank partner like Centric Bank.

Each woman had an incredible, powerful story to tell about Centric Bank’s pivotal role in the salvation of their business. They credited Patti Husic’s quick launch of an online PPP Portal, her team’s personal reach-outs to small business owners explaining exactly how to tap the SBA funds, and Centric’s relentless, all-hours follow through to ensure funds were received on time so that no employee would miss a paycheck. It was a ground truth message that Administrator Carranza and special guest U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia appreciated hearing. With more than 2,000 applications processed, Centric Bank was able to save 20,000 jobs in the Commonwealth!

Patti Husic not only hosted the event on June 19, 2020, but led the Roundtable by sharing the efforts and resources Centric Bank invested in their customers and non-customers. The day concluded with an SBA afternoon tour of customer Sweet Confections Cakes in Harrisburg with owners Darmayne and Robbie Roberts.
